You can make deposits from your nominated (linked) account by Faster Payments, CHAPS or Standing Order. You can also make deposits by transfer from an existing Vida Savings account in your name or held jointly with someone else (subject to the terms of that account), or, for ISAs, by transfer from another ISA provider. Payments to us from any other account will not be accepted and will be returned. We don’t accept deposits by cash, cheque or banker’s draft.
When your account is open, you can add money to an Easy Access Account, Defined Access Account, Notice Account, Easy Access ISA, or Defined Access ISA at any time. For Fixed Rate Bonds and Fixed Rate ISAs, you have 21 calendar days from your application request to make as many deposits as you like. After this period, no further deposits are permitted.
We’re not a clearing bank. So, when you pay in a deposit, it goes to our Barclays account first, then into your Vida account. It can take up to two business days to show on your Vida account. But we pay you interest from the business day we receive your payment.
Payments into your account are made by electronic transfer from your nominated (linked) account to your new Vida Savings account. You do not need to wait to authenticate your nominated bank account to deposit into your account.
You’ll need to provide the following details to make a transfer:
- Your Full Name: (first and second name)
- Vida Savings Account Number: 63246221
- Vida Savings Sort Code: 203253 (this may show as Barclays; we partner with them as our clearing bank)
- Reference Number: Your Vida Savings application number or the 13-digit account number which is set out in your welcome letter
When you opened your account online, you received an application reference number and later an account number. You can use either of these as your payment reference.
Please make sure that you correctly quote the reference when you make a payment. Without this, we’ll be unable to allocate the money to your account and your funds will be returned to you.
If you already hold another Vida Savings account that lets you transfer money, you can use that account to fund your new account.
Your initial deposit needs to be above the minimum associated with your account, please see your Summary Box and Special Conditions that are provided during application. If you send an amount below the minimum initial deposit, your funds will be returned to you. We’ll also return in full any payments which cause you to exceed the maximum balance permitted on the account.
